The Wagyu Katsu Sandwich is the most expensive sandwich in the world and a true delight that you can now prepare at home.
Ingredients for 1-2 people
| 300-350 g | Wagyu rump steak |
| 2 discs | Sandwich bread |
| Something | Steak salt |
For the sauce
| 2 tbsp | mayonnaise |
| 1 tsp | Coarse mustard |
| 2 tbsp | soy sauce |
| 1 tsp | Honey |
preparation
- Allow the Wagyu rump steak to thaw slowly overnight in the refrigerator and place it on a work surface one hour before cooking. Then preheat the grill or pan to the highest possible temperature, remove any excess fat from the rump steak, and slice it to fit the sandwich bread. Finally, sear the rump steak on the grill or in the pan (internal temperature 52-54 degrees Celsius).
- In the next step, you can melt the fat rim on the grill or in a pan, cut off the edges of the sandwich and briefly toast the sandwich slices in the Wagyu fat.
- The sauce can be prepared in advance by mixing the four ingredients together. Then, spread the sauce on both slices of bread and place the rump steak between them. Season with mild steak salt for best results.
